Outpatient Instructions: Patients
should be instructed to not wear powder or deodorant for mammography. Mammograms
are easiest to perform immediately after menses has stopped.
Patients should be told of our new location at The
Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center.
Rx/Requisitions: All screening
and diagnostic mammography requires a written prescription. All interventional
procedures, including aspirations and core needle biopsies, require the patient
to have a surgical consult.
Verbal Orders: N/A
Standing Orders: N/A
Reporting Results: For
staff physicians, screening mammogram results are sent
electronically within 3 days. Diagnostic results are communicated
to the patient at the time of the exam. Diagnostic mammograms and breast
ultrasound are not performed in the evening or on Saturday. Results for all
patients requiring biopsy are verbally communicated to the referring physician's
office within 3 days. |
